About GO ELMS

Candidate-side preparation before the recruiter handoff.

GO ELMS is positioned between the interested candidate and the recruiting partner. It gives candidates a clear starting point, reviews initial readiness, and organizes qualified profiles for a possible consent-based introduction.

The service does not replace the recruiter, employ teachers, select a school, or control hiring and visa decisions.

Initial readiness

What qualified candidates need.

These are the requirements to begin your South Korea teaching application.

  • An eligible passport Passport eligibility depends on current Korean immigration rules and the recruiting partner's active requirements. The initial check identifies the passport you hold before any handoff.
  • A completed bachelor's degree A valid four-year bachelor's degree is required. Art, English, engineering—any major is eligible.
  • A passport with sufficient validity If your passport expires within approximately 18 months, begin the renewal process early.
  • A clean background check You need a clean national criminal background check to qualify for an E-2 visa. Minor traffic violations are generally not an issue.
  • Availability for a one-year contract Most teaching contracts require an approximately one-year commitment.
  • Location flexibility Considering locations beyond Seoul generally increases the range of available opportunities.
Who can apply

Start with the initial check. GO ELMS will compare your profile with the recruiting partner's current requirements before proposing any introduction.

Preparing to teach in Korea

Teaching in South Korea requires an E-2 visa.

The E-2 process requires route-specific documents and decisions by the employer, Korean immigration authorities, and the appropriate Korean consular office. GO ELMS can help you understand the recruiting partner's document checklist, but official instructions control.

Find and accept a teaching job

GO ELMS prepares qualified candidate profiles for possible introduction to a recruiting partner. Recruiters and schools manage interviews, offers, and employment decisions. The visa process begins only after the appropriate employment steps.

Collect and submit your documents

GO ELMS helps you collect the paperwork required by your school, including your diploma copy and national criminal background check.

Collect your visa

Your school processes the visa application. Once it is ready, you collect your E-2 visa from the Korean consulate nearest you.

Two common E-2 categories

E-2-1 generally covers foreign-language instructors at private schools or academies. E-2-2 generally covers qualifying public-school teaching assistants. The responsible Korean diplomatic mission may require additional documents.
